At each month’s meeting a scripture will be read which reflects the topic of the month.  Participants read Luke 9:18-20 and then answered four questions.

  1. What is my response to Jesus’ question, “Who do you say that I am?”
  2. By what names do I refer to Jesus in my prayer and in my conversations, and why?
  3. How does my perception of Jesus influence my daily life?
  4. What terms do I think Jesus would use in speaking with or about me, and why?

The participants were broken into small groups from different parishes to discuss their answers.  The Bishops Charge was read:

Prayerfully discern how we will invigorate the mission and ministry of Jesus in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany through prudent stewardship of all of our resources.

The Bishops charge was discussed.  Some key points:

  • Knowing each others resources
  • Combining resources
  • Earlier distribution of planning guides so participants will be better prepared.  More specific planning guides and change in the order of topics

Eileen Shirey will address this issue.

  • Perhaps the topic Evangelization should be done at one of the last meetings.
  • First ½ hour of each meeting is devoted to prior meetings topic.
  • Get prior input from parishioners on next months’ topic.
  • Have the Diocese present ideals in church so we have a role model to work toward.

Next meeting will be held at St. Mary’ Church on February 15th at 6:30PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Eileen Mazur
