Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sisters and brothers, as the days of Ordinary Time begin to draw to a close, the Lord Jesus reminds us that, even in times of trial and persecution, not a hair on our heads will be harmed because of our faith and trust in God. For this we lift heart and voice in praise and thanksgiving.

MEDITATION:  33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
A Vocation to Sacrifice and to Joy.

"If we are called to the place in which God wills to do us the most good, it means we are called where we can best leave ourselves and find Him.  The mercy of God demands to be known and recognized and set apart from everything else and praised and adored in joy.  Every vocation is, therefore, at once a vocation to sacrifice and to joy." (Tom Merton, NO MAN IS AN ISLAND, page 138)
