*The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord */(this year celebrated
on *Monday, March 31*, because March 25th fell within the Octave of  Easter) /It is not an obligation to attend Mass on this feast. "Sometimes spiritual writers are accused of putting Mary on a pedestal and thereby discouraging ordinary humans from imitating her. Perhaps
such an observation is misguided. God did put Mary on a pedestal and has put all human beings on a pedestal. We have scarcely begun to realize the magnificence of divine grace, the wonder of God’s freely given love. The marvel of Mary—even in the midst of her very ordinary life—is God’s  shout to us to wake up to the _*marvelous creatures that we all are by
divine design."*_* from "Saint of the Day" at: www.americancatholic.org*

THANK YOU - Mark DiCerbo and I would like to thank all the acolytes that participated in our Holy Week services: Justin and Carli Aragosa; Michael, Christine and Rachel Natalie; Emi, Vitas and Mattias Carosella; Mikayla Thomas, Cecilia Holodak and Sarah and Kristen Perrella. A special "thank you" goes out to Justin for participating in every service we had from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday. He has really shown dedication and leadership by taking a prominent role in this ministry. As I have seen in the past, they all made these holy days extra special and more meaningful for those who came to them. We are very blessed to have these kids and young adults give of their time and talent as acolytes. Mark Perrella, Assistant Acolyte Coordinator

           MEDITATION:  SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
~Renounce your fear of newness and freedom!~

"Easter is the hour of our own deliverance -- from what?  Precisely from Lent and from its hard Law which accuses and judges our infirmity.  We are no longer under the Law.  We are delivered from the harsh judgment! Here is all the greatness and all the unimaginable splendor of the
Easter mystery -- here is the 'grace' of Easter which we fail to lay hands on because we are afraid to understand its full meaning.  To understand Easter and to live it, we must renounce our dread of newness and freedom!"(/Thomas Merton/, SEASONS OF CELEBRATION, page 145-146)
