The Capital District Ski Educational Foundation, Inc. (C.D.S.E.F.) is a non-profit organization chartered in the state of New York. It was founded in 1968 to establish, administrate and promote educational programs devoted to the development and training of skiers as a means of healthful recreation and physical fitness, and to stimulate interest in skiing competition in the Eastern U.S.
We give unconditional Grants-In-Aid to individuals, schools, colleges, universities, and other organizations to assist in the promotion of ski training and competition. We also give Grants to programs devoted to the development and training of individuals and groups in ski safety, first aid and winter rescue.
The Board of the C.D.S.E.F. consists of fifteen individuals, each elected for a three-year term as a Trustee of the Foundation. This Board of Trustees meets monthly to develop and run fund-raising events, and to vote on Grants-In-Aid for individuals and organizations that show financial need in their ski-related efforts.
We raise the monies for Grants through the CDSEF Wintersports Bazaar, the March Hare Raiser and through direct contributions and gifts from individuals, corporations, and other charitable foundations. We return 95% of the monies raised in the form of grants to the skiing community.
