Al Gore may have quite a few nutty ideas and opinions but his potential rival in the next presidential campaign, George W. Bush appears to have none at all. Consider this: he has refused to take a side on gun control, the NATO action in Kosovo, hate crime legislation, or any other controversial subject currently in the news. Is it that he has no brain or no backbone? Both Gore and Bush come from high-profile, politically prominent families. Both their fathers made names for themselves, one as a powerful Senator, the other as President. Both of them have been groomed since childhood to become the President of the United States of America. Personally I think they are both second-stringers and I have no idea why the press seems to have become so enamored with these two guys. If this is the best we can do, America seems to be on the decline in its third century.
