Synopsis: Volume 1 Issue 1
A mysterious stranger, Mister X, returns to Radiant City, a futuristic city he designed to be a utopia, but which has somehow gone horribly wrong. X hopes to repair the
city. X breaks into the apartment of Arnold Zamora, a local gangster, and although he is spotted by Zamora's girlfriend Patrice, he manages to escape to Mercedes'
apartment. Mercedes, a waitress in one of Zamora's clubs, calls Mister X "Santos", and is also apparently his girlfriend. We discover that X uses a serum in order to stay
awake constantly. Zamora discovers what Mister X stole from his apartment--a complete set of original blueprints for Radiant City. He sends his goons after Mister X,
with instructions to bring him in alive. In the meantime, X attends a wild party hosted by Consuelo, one of Radiant City's beautiful people. Consuelo is the ex- Mrs. X,
and refers to him as "Walter". While pigging out on finger foods, X encounters Patrice, who is also at the party. For no apparent reason, she calls him "Michael" and
leads him into the shower fully clothed. X exits via the bathroom window, and returns to where he stashed his briefcase during an earlier encounter with Zamora's
goons. When he arrives, the thugs are waiting for him, and in the ensuing struggle, they unwittingly knock him off the roof.
