Mister X

This area will eventually contain my tribute to one of the greatest comics of the 1980s. For now, all I have up is the first part of the Image Gallery and the Links Page. Eventually, there will be much more material, including:
A Mister X FAQ
A complete issue list
Plot summaries for every issue
A list of Mister X merchandise
A character list
A list of comics in a similar vein to Mister X

News:
11/16/08 Added a few new images to the gallery.
11/14/08 Many, many developments since my last update. (So much to do, so little time. . .) In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mister X, Dark Horse has published Mister X: The Archives in hardcover. The book collects the entire color Volume 1 run, and also includes loads of great additional material. They'll also be publishing "Mister X: Condemned", an all-new 4-issue Mister X series by Dean Motter, with the first issue scheduled to appear on 12/24/08. There are also rumors of some new merchandise, but I'll post details when I have them. Last, and least, my ISP broke the my counter again, so I had to disable it for now.
7/31/04 Dean Motter's page has moved. It's now here.
5/30/04 Looks like the collected edition will not be published by Image Comics after all. The good news is that according to this page at Dean Motter's site, it will appear in Fall 2004 as a 2-volume set published by ibooks. From the description, it sounds like this edition will have everything that was planned for the Image Comics version.
1/11/04 Added several new images to the gallery. Image Comics got rid of the press release I linked to on 8/6/02, but the Internet Archive has a record of it here. Dean Motter indicated in Electropolis #4 that the hardcover collection from Image ". . . will collect the entire color run of the original series (including a newly illustrated denouement) as well as the posters, covers, seldom seen items and the prerequisite sketchbook material."
9/23/02 The image gallery has been revamped to improve the layout, and several new images have been added. Enjoy!
8/6/02 Huge news! According to a press release at their site, Image Comics will be publishing a deluxe hardcover Mister X collection. I'm still trying to find out exactly what will be in the book, but my best guess is it's the Volume 1 issues from Vortex. More information to come!
6/27/02 The hit counter is back! Electropolis #4 is offically late, as it was advertised in Comic Book Artist #15 with a release date of January 2002! Plenty of new images in the gallery, and I'm working on neatening the page up so it will look better on a variety of platforms and resolutions. 05/11/02 I've temporarily disabled the hit counter: my ISP moved my web pages to a new server, and now the counter is broken! Draw! #3 is available. Also check out "Tales from Shock City" by the Hernandez Brothers: it's a collection of re-colored "Tales from Somnopolis" back-up stories, with some new material. Apparently to avoid copyright problems, all references to Mister X, Radiant City, or Somnopolis have been changed.
12/20/01 Comic Book Artist #15 is available, featuring interviews with Dean Motter, Paul Rivoche, and the Hernandez Brothers, and lots of rare and previously unpublished X art. Look for Mister X on the cover. Paul Rivoche will also begin a column about drawing and provide the cover art for the next issue (#3) of Draw!, also from TwoMorrows. Electropolis #3 will be available on 12/28, according to the Image website.
10/28/2001 Image Comics has a Sneak Peek of Electropolis #4. The cover will be by Paul Rivoche, and an "enigmatic bald, blind architect" will play an important role in the plot. Also, Ralph Alfonso of Bongo Beat Records will be releasing "Thrilling Women: The Lost Air Pirates Sessions", an album featuring Mister X alumni Dean Motter and Jeffrey Morgan. The source recordings are from 1977-1980, and audio restoration work is ongoing. No release date yet, but watch here and at Bongo Beat for more news.
9/16/2001 Electropolis # 2 is out. Paul Rivoche is scheduled to be the cover artist for an upcoming issue.
7/23/2001 Vortex may soon be publishing another Fiona Smyth project. . .
6/29/2001 Dean Motter has begun a new series in the Mister X / Terminal City tradition! Check out Electropolis from Image Comics. There's also a web-based animated version.
